Playing with friends!/Misc pics
Dancing with a Prince.

Nope, not Halloween! Just a usual dress up day here!
Gotta love it. Miss B wanting the pom-pom and Madi trying to get the matchbox car!

Sweaty hair and messy face. I don't know how she does it, but she manages to always get more food ON her then IN her!

Making Daddy's birthday cake. First you crack the eggs................
Then you "mix it all together" and hope it stays in the bowl, and not flung on the walls.

Great thing about Key West....when the base pool is closed, we can go to local hotels and swim in their pools and the hotels don't mind! Madison and the gang having a snack.....and surprisingly, everyone was getting along! Food does that, doesn't it??

We went to the bird sanctualry to check on "daffy duck" ( injured seagull we took in with a broken wing) There is a nature walk there and at the end is a pond full of turtles. They give you dog food to be able to feed them. There was also a pretty good sized Iguana there we fed too, but my camera batteries died before I could take his pic. Note to self, always bring extra batteries.

I know I'm behind!
So I'm still behind...but now that school has started, I have 3 hours each afternoon and maybe, just maybe I can start to catch up. I still have plenty of pictures from July, not to mention, now I have the whole month of August. A lot of these pictures don't have Madi in them, but she got to see all of these as they were being caught. Let me remind you that in the last post, I had pictures of her jumping off and swimming right by the dock these were caught at. But to put your minds at ease, the fishing was done AFTER the swimming was over!! Except for the stingray, the sharks were "baby" sharks, but sharks nonetheless. My nephew hooked quite a few of them and then dennis reeled them in. Had to laugh at the fight these sharks gave for being so small, but the stingray took 45 mins to get in!!

A shark is a shark is a shark. Enough said!

2 months with Madison
Well, as the saying goes, my how times flies when you're having fun! We can't believe it's been 2 months already with Madi here. I think we've all made the adjustment much better then expected. Except for our dog, who feels a bit left out because we're gone much more then before. But Madi kisses him good morning and good night and they both seem to be taking care of each other.
Madi sure is in the right spot living here in Key West. She is a water girl through and through. She has already learned Low and High tides and loves swimming in the (her words)" Salty water." Without swimming lessons, she has learned to kick her way to the surface, so she has been able to go down the slides without her life jacket on at the "Big Pool." ( But we have to be right there to get her ) She's learned a lot about sea life and animals. We also got to see our first adult sea turtle right out our backdoor, but only because he was dead, he had been hit by boat propellers. But that was even a good lesson about respecting animals and what can happen when people aren't careful in the animals territory.
She has a circle of friends already and will be starting pre-K this month. She is so excited about starting "stool." We were even lucky enough to meet her teacher at the playground one night, and I had to laugh because Madi seemed a bit intimidated by her. ( There aren't too many people she won't talk to, and she just kind of stared at her all night)
Just as any expectant parent, we were nervous before she got here that we wouldn't be able to help her enough, knowing the life she had before getting in to the foster system. But in 2 months, we feel we must be doing something right, she seems to be thriving and growing both emotionally and physically. ( She's already grown out of her shoes and 4t shorts)
I'm not saying we don't have our bad days, because we do. But as the time continues to fly by, there isn't anything we'd like to hear more than the "Goooooood Mornnnnnning!" that she sings while trotting into our bedroom to wake us up. Is there any better way of waking up then that??

Getting to play with her cousin
We were blessed to have Uncle, Aunty, and 2 cousins come visit. It was nice to teach her who her family is. I'm pretty behind in posting, and there's a lot of pics that hopefully I can catch up and post soon! With Aunty and cousin looking on...Miss Daredevil jumps off the dock.....just wait until the rest of the pictures are posted to see what fish (um, and sharks, and stingrays) were caught from the same dock!!
